Women
Spartan women were treated much better than there Athenian sisters. They were aloud to own land and were able to do with it what they please. Land could be inherited by men as well as women although she might get half of what the son obtained. Once the women were married, they did not have to do much. The husband lived in barracks and fought wars most of his life and she only had to raise a child until age 7. She was left with land that she could do and cooked, cleaned and did what she wanted to. The main job for a women was to create and raise little spartan soldiers. She would tell them stories of triumph and bravery and taught her children to be strong and powerful.Women in sparta could be schooled and participated in sports just like the men did. They also were married at an older age to a man around the same age as her.
